The guide will get on board with your group from Museokeskus Konsti (Satakunnankatu 1, Varkaus). We first drive to the Männikkö, built in 1947 for the factory doctor, and explore the building from the outside. From Männikkö we continue to Savonmäki, the "birthplace" of prefabricated houses. In the distance, we see, among other things, one of Alvar Aalto's first experimental houses for type houses, "Alvar", and get to know the plan that Aalto designed. Finally, we visit the Könöpelto type houses on both the south and north sides of the railway line. All the dwellings are occupied private homes. During the transitions, the guide will provide information about the other handprints of Alvar Aalto in Varkaus and bring you back to the Museokeskus. Finally, the guide will show you the exact details about Alvar Aalto from the Konsti exhibition and guide you through the use of the VR glasses.
