Kesäkatuilta

Kesäkatuilta is organised in Varkaus twice a summer. The first is held in June in cooperation with Vekara-Varkaus and the second in August.

Kesäkatuilta will close Varkaus' Kauppakatu to traffic for three hours, offering visitors an experience of food, local services and products, and live music.

On 8 August 2024, the Summer Street Night will feature the Orchestra Illanvarjo, Anssi Huotari - mies ja kitara and Varkauden tanssiseura. The programme will be hosted by the popular favourite Lempi Liimaska with his own humorous style. The Kesäkatuilta starts at 17:00 and ends at 20:00

The food court offers tasty local food suppliers, including local talent Harri's Food Factory, which produces locally produced and guaranteed home-made burgers.

Rüsselsheim Square has lots to do for children, including bouncy castles in pairs!

On the shopping street, various vendors sell their wares and the shops on the street keep their doors open longer! The whole family is welcome to enjoy a summer evening on Kauppakatu!
